 George Boykin

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Boykin has dedicated his adult career to the treatment of children, adolescents and their families. For 22 years Mr. Boykin has enjoyed various positions in the mental health field. Early in his beginnings, he was privileged to be a substitute teacher, mentor, coach and a positive role model in rural South Carolina Schools.  Enjoying serving at-risk youth, Mr. Boykin worked as a Probation/Parole Officer for the SC Department of Juvenile Justice where he instituted prevention programming in the local schools, led community-based treatment services and served as a residential counselor during the summer for siblings of incarcerated youth.

Positions held include: -Co-Founded Lighthouse Care Centers, LLC -Chief Executive Officer of Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta -Board of Directors for the Group Home Association in Georgia -Group CEO over Lighthouse of Augusta and Lake Bridge Behavioral Health

Awards include: -Corporate Employee of the Year for his excellence in Customer Service and Service Delivery -Chairman’s Counsel Award for Outstanding Service

Through his career, Mr. Boykin has not lost his passion for caring for people with mental illness and substance abuse.  Mr. Boykin is a hands-on leader and prides himself on knowing his patients, staff, and their families.






Laura Strother

Clinical Director

Laura Strother is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama. For over 10 years she has worked in adolescent mental health and social services. She moved to Charlotte, NC in 2012 and began providing clinical services specializing in behavioral health interventions and trauma treatment. She works to raise awareness to mental health by being an agent of change in the community. Mrs. Strother is dedicated to providing quality mental health services to youth and families in a caring environment that fosters healing.

 Dr. Paul S. Brar, MD

Associate Medical Director

Dr. P Paul. S Brar, MD is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist who after finishing training at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Washington DC and William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute in Columbia, SC started his private practice in Charlotte, NC in 1993. He has experience working with all ages and has particular passion to work with children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and substance abuse difficulties. Dr Brar is a very caring, competent and knowledgeable physician whose eclectic training in treating his patients with close involvement of treatment team and families of patients has been well received by all.

Dr. Brar is a fellow of American Psychiatric Association and is well respected in the community and peers alike.

 Meghan Yates

Director of Quality Improvement, Compliance & Risk Management

Meghan Yates has been in the Quality Improvement, Compliance & Risk Management to include clinical and hospital administration for past 4 years. Meghan received a Double Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of South Carolina and an Associates in Business Management/Marketing from the University of South Carolina-Lancaster. She also received a certification in Forensic Medicine from Carolinas Medical Center in 2014. Meghan is not only passionate about the children and adolescent patients at the facility in Charlotte, but she also serves locally, nationally, and internationally as a humanitarian. Even while working at the facility, Meghan has been to Africa and will return there this coming February in 2017. Prior to joining Strategic, Meghan was the Quality Improvement, Risk Management & Litigation Specialist at a local hospital in South Carolina.
